VALE Joy Secombe
The dressage world has lost a significant figure with the death on August 29th of Joy Seccombe, long term rider and A level judge, following a very recent diagnosis of cancer.
For Manning Valley Dressage Joy has been a frequent visitor, judging young horse tests and FEI to Grand Prix level. Joy herself rode to Grand Prix on her horse Tallerack Clancy, who incidentally also competed successfully under her husband in camp drafting, a true all round performer. Riders who received her judgements accepted that her comments were pertinent and advice worth taking on board. Extra respect is due to the judge who has ridden at the level, a rare quality.
Joy's funeral is the 7th September in Toowoomba at 9:30.
